Terry V. Geel

Terry V. Geel

Terry V. Geel, 68, passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter at his side, after an extended illness on February 26th, 2024, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was born October 19th, 1955 in Machias, Maine, the son of Harold (paddy) Geel and Mildred Dennison Geel.

Terry graduated from Washington Academy in 1974, with honors, and perfect attendance all four years. Terry began his career as an apprentice to his father in the field of brick masonry. He then went on to start his own business as a mason, while also doing home renovations. His work graces the many homes of Downeast Maine. He had many interests: he was a skilled bee keeper in his early years, enjoyed gardening, repairing cars, cooking, history, genealogy, and traveling. If you could get him talking on gardening, he wouldn’t stop. If you had a home or car issue, he could fix it.

Terry will be remembered for his excellent workmanship and dedication to his community, church and family. He will also be remembered as a kind and gentle soul.

Terry will be sadly missed by his wife Deborah Geel, of 31 years; his only daughter, Anna Geel, 29, of Boone, North Carolina. He is predeceased by his brother Tony Geel, mother, and father. He leaves behind many friends and family who loved him.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Jacksonville Cemetery, East Machias. On behalf of Terry’s memory, donations can be made to the American Kidney Fund at: American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
