Sargentville
Nicholas Joseph Gray Sr. “Butch”, Bampa, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2022, at EMMC in Bangor with family by his side. He was born November 15, 1946, to Harold and Johanna Gray in Mt. Kisco, New York.
He lived most of his life in the valley in Sargentville. He was always willing to help family and friends whether it was running errands or helping with projects or picking his great grandson Matthew up at school. He drove school bus for many years, plowed snow but worked mostly as a self-employed carpenter. He loved to feed his granddaughter Amanda’s horses carrots, deer hunting with his brother Harold and working with his other brother Joe. Some called him Sargentville’s homeland security. He also loved boating, family get togethers, and riding around the town to see what was new.
He is survived by his daughter, Johanna and husband Stephen Fill; granddaughter, Amanda and husband Corey Roy; great grandson Matthew S Tobey; grand dog Rascal and his cat Chubs; son, Nicholas J. Gray Jr. and wife Danielle; grandson, Nicholas the 3rd and fiancé Kayla; great grandson, Nicholas the 4th; great granddaughter Nylah; brothers, Joe Gray and wife Gigi, Harold Gray and wife Marion and a very special niece Marie; and many nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Bob and Jane Sargent, Julie and Neil Davis and many other friends. He was predeceased by his wife Brenda, and his parents. He will be dearly missed.
There will be no service at this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Butch was an incredible support to our family in friendship and community values. He will be dearly missed and thought of fondly. I will be keeping you in my heart and prayers.
My deepest sympathy on your family’s loss. Butch and his Dad used to ride to church with me many many years ago. My late husband Emery had a soft spot for Butch always! He was so very nice to Virginia Simmons and she so appreciated him.
The beauty of a life well lived, never dies. Gods blessings to you all.
