Myron Stanley Hardy, Jr., 68, known to his friends as ‘Ronnie,’ ‘Ron,’ and ‘Cap,’ passed away on September 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with heart disease. He was born on January 4, 1955, in Bangor. He was a vibrant soul, a true friend to many, and an integral part of a close-knit family. Myron’s early years were filled with adventurous pursuits like visits to the principal’s office, motorcycle riding, restoring his beloved Chevelle, clamming, dragging for scallops and sea urchins, lobstering, and transporting lobster bait. Always brimming with ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit, Myron was a man with a plan and a dreamer who kept everyone on their toes.
Above all, Myron was a devoted family man, sharing an inspiring 46-year marriage with his childhood sweetheart and soulmate, Renee. Together, they raised three enterprising daughters: Gail Stinson, Morgan Eaton, and Christina Carter. Myron held a special place in the hearts of his cousins Tommy, Richard, David, and Jimmy Carter. His sharp wit and infectious humor brought joy to many. We will forever cherish and repeat his unforgettable one-liners and clever analogies.
Myron is survived by his loving wife, Renee, his three daughters, and their families. Gail Stinson and her husband Aaron, along with their children Matthew and Abby, will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Morgan Eaton and her husband Chris, along with their children Cody, Alison, Thomas, and Elsie, will remember him with love and gratitude. Christina Carter and her husband Shawn, along with their children Elena and Leland, will continue to honor his legacy. Myron also leaves behind his mother, Geraldine Condon, five siblings: Valerie Eaton (Tim Robbins), Michael Hardy, Susan Buxton (Peter Buxton), Butch Condon (Pat Heanssler), and Kimberly Curtis (Michael Curtis), and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will dearly miss him. Myron was predeceased by his father, Myron Hardy, Sr., and his stepfather, Sumner Condon.
A celebration of Myron’s life will be held on November 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Stonecutters Kitchen in Stonington.
