Moon, Alison

Moon, Alison

Lamoine/Largo, FL — Alison Marie Moon was born on March 18, 1982 and graced the world with a beautiful presence until she passed away on August 14, 2017.

Those who knew Alison remember the blond haired child, always twirling her hair and carrying her special white blanket.  They remember the cheerleader with the brightest smile.  They remember the woman who always chose her own path in life, who spread her wings to make a home in Florida while always holding true to her Maine roots.

With a smile that seldom left her face, Alison was the first one to lend a hand or offer a kind word.  Alison’s life was full of a complete and true happiness that reflected in every person fortunate enough to cross her path.

Alison was a natural caretaker and she took great pride in nurturing her clients.   As a licensed nail-tech and esthetician, continuing education and self-improvement were a priority.   She had many accomplishments in life but she was most proud of her successful, ever-growing business in the beauty industry.

Alison is survived by her parents Leonard Moon and Jamie Compton.  Her love for them was so evident in the special relationships they shared.   She also leaves behind her fiancé Rick Ruggiero, a man who made her shine in a way that only true love can.

The love of a family is one of life’s greatest blessings and Alison’s family was indeed one of hers.  On the maternal side, she leaves behind Grandparents Jim & Cookie Patten, Uncles & Aunts, James “Putt” & Pamela Patten, John & Barbara Patten & Joe Patten and their children.  On the paternal side, she leaves behind Uncles & Aunts Lee & Jane Moon, Elliott & Beth Moon, Mike & Val Griffin, Alvin & Lauren Hall and their children. Godparents Nick & Marie Pierson also survive Alison.  She was preceded in death by paternal Grandparents Barbara & Leslie Moon.

Friendships make life more beautiful and with such an incredible personality and caring nature, Alison had many, but held closest to her heart dear friends Melissa Chakirelis & Briana Garrity.  The family and friends who will miss Alison is too long to list.

Her celebration of life was held on August 19, 2017 at The Acadia Event Center in Trenton, Maine.  Those who wish to make contributions in Alison’s name may be made to the SPCA of Hancock County, 141 Bar Harbor Road, Trenton, ME 04605.

    To all that loved Alison,
What a beautiful smile and beautiful girl! My heart is broke for all of you. Keep her memories close. Abraham Lincoln said: “Live a good life and in the end, it’s not the year’s in the life, it’s the life in the year’s”. Love to you all.

To Rick, Alison’s parents, and all her friends and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Alison and I had so many hours of conversations about her beloved family and of course the wedding plans with her love Rick. When my baby was born 5 months ago she gave him a big fluffy stuffed elephant. She was so kind, so generous, so full of life. She always made me laugh and made everyone around her feel special and important. What a wonderful and beautiful person. I will think about her every day and miss her forever.
