Mesiniemi, Jani

JANI MIKA UOLEVI MESINIEMI, 44, died unexpectedly February 8, 2021, at his
home in Somesville. He was born March 27, 1976, in Espoo, Finland, the son of Jaakko
Mesiniemi and Eija Mesiniemi.
Jani graduated from Eastern Maine Community College 2010 with an Associates Degree
in Building Technology & Computer Aided Drafting. Jani then further pursued his
education at College of the Atlantic, graduating in 2013. He also had completed military
service and was a veteran of the Finnish Army.
Jani is survived by his loving Mother Eija Mesiniemi; his devoted sister Heli Mesiniemi,
her husband & his best friend William Hanley and beloved nieces Aleksandra and
Matilda Hanley, all of Mount Desert, ME; his relatives in Finland and many many friends
whose life were touched by Jani’s kindness.
Jani was a true gentle soul, humble with a quiet sense of humor. Jani was selflessly
committed to his family and brought peace to the people around him. He is greatly
missed, but never forgotten. Fly with the eagles, Jani.

A generous hand and an peaceful mind
Anxious to please and loath to offend
A loving son, brother and faithful friend
