Margaret A. Fowler

Margaret Astbury Fowler, 67, passed away peacefully at her home in Brooksville on February 14, 2024. Margaret was born on June 11, 1956, in Blue Hill to Tracy O. and Bernice (Eaton) Astbury of Sedgwick.

Margaret was well known for her crafting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting skills. She enjoyed spending time in her gardens and watching her flowers come back year after year. Margaret was also known for her Christmas ornaments that she gave as gifts to family, friends, and her grandchildren’s teachers/caregivers. These ornaments will be cherished by many for years to come. Margaret was a people person, she loved socializing and spending time with friends and family. She worked as a CNA at Penobscot Nursing Home and then spent years as the Camp Four Winds Kitchen Manager. She also ran Four Winds Four Seasons where she sent Christmas Greens all over the Country. Through her employment at Camp Four Winds, she made many friends who became like family to her. The McBeths, Melias, Verzis and Larsons just to name a few. She also had a close friendship with her neighbors Brad and Betsy Jones.
Margaret is survived by her fiancé and partner for the last 18 years, Ralph Proctor of Brooksville; her children, son Mark T. Fowler, wife Rachel, their son Thomas and his friend Emily of Sedgwick; son Jeremy R. Fowler, wife Erin and daughter Sage and fiancé Nick Wells and their children Kiara and Avary all of Brooksville; a daughter Lois L. Beaupain and children Norah and Charlie of Lebanon Maine. She also has a bonus grandson Connor Betts of Penobscot who she treated as one of her own. Siblings: Ree Hamilton and husband David, Alden Astbury and wife Wanda who was not only a sister-in-law but Margarets closest friend. Margaret and Wanda went on many adventures together that Margaret often talked about. She cherished their friendship. Scott Astbury and wife Tammy all of Sedgwick: father-in- law Roy Fowler of Brooksville and sister-in-law Bonnie (Fowler) Miller of DeFuniak Springs Florida; aunt Betty Gray of Ellsworth (formerly Sedgwick), Aunt Cressida Keefe of Blue Hill, a niece, and many nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 28 years, Thomas Fowler, and mother-in-law Lucille Fowler.

A graveside service and celebration of life will be held in June. Information will be shared at a later date.

    My thoughts are with the children and the family, Margaret was an amazing person and she touched the hearts and souls of so many people from all over! May you rest in peace and forever be in our thoughts and memories.

    I send my thoughts and prayers to Margaret’s family, especially to Ree. I know it must seem like it was too soon. I loved Margaret’s smile!
