Kelley, Raymond W.

Holden — Raymond W. Kelley, 85, died May 29, 2016 at EMMC in Bangor. He was born in Bar Harbor, March 01, 1931, the son of Raymond Fulton and Adra-Anna (Seavey) Kelley.

He attended Jonesport schools. Besides lobster fishing, he worked for H. R. Beal & Sons in Southwest Harbor. He also spent many years working two jobs at a time. Other jobs included: Peavy Mfg in Eddington, carpenter work, real estate in the Bangor and Brewer area, and most recently he drove the school bus for SAD 63 in Holden, Eddington and Clifton. He had a Business Management degree from Indiana University, and a Professional Hardware Man degree from National Retail Hardware Association. He was a lifetime member of Col. Brewer Lodge #56, Knights of Pythias. He attended churches in Jonesport, Southwest Harbor and Hampden. Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and putting puzzles together.

He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Earlene Farley Kelley; five daughters, Mrs. Chester (Lois) Lenfestey, Jr., of Belgrade, Mrs. Ivan (Narda) Walker of West Tremont, Mrs. David (Gwendolyn) Tracy of Bucksport, Mrs. Teenia Colby of Ellsworth and Mrs. Philip (Roxane) Esposito of Bangor; one son, Richard Willis Kelley of Ellsworth; one stepson, Roy Goodwin, Jr., and wife Elizabeth of Holden; fourteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gwendolyn Kelley of Hermon and Patricia Beal of Elliot. He was predeceased by three sisters, Mertie Alley, Ethlyn Haines and Virginia Worcester; and two brothers, Royal and Manfred Kelley.

By request there will be no visiting hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside prayer at 1:00 pm, June 12, 2016 at the Head of the Harbor Cemetery at Bass Harbor.
