Inez May Day

Ellsworth

Inez May Day, 70, died from complications of Pneumonia March 15, 2024, at the Ellsworth hospital. She was born March 5, 1954, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Murray Warden Day and Evelyn (Stratton) Willey.

Inez graduated Kubasaki High School, Okinawa Japan, class of 1972. She attended Weber State College where she earned enough credits for an associate degree. She was raised by Alonzo C. Willey Sr and Evelyn Willey in a military family and lived in several different locations to include Japan, Puerto Rico, Michigan, Utah, and Maine.

Inez worked as a teacher’s aid at Intermountain Christian Academy and Cherryfield Christian Academy. She also volunteered her time supporting local church events and was a loyal member at the local Grange in Harrington. Inez loved hunting, fishing, cross-stitch, crossword puzzles, reading, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and old movies.

Inez is survived by her two brothers Alonzo Willey Jr. and his wife Debra Willey of Mariaville, Wayne Willey and Dawnelle Willey of Ogden Utah; two sisters Victoria Ward of Machias, Shirley Day and Steve McLucas of Cherryfield; Nephews/Nieces, Jordyn Willey of Unionville, Ryan Willey and his wife Summer of Farmington Utah, Melissa Day, Jasmine Day, Carson Day of Cherryfield, Timothy and Alicia Ryder of Newburgh, Christopher Ryder of Surry.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on May 18, 2024, at the Prospect Harbor Cemetery (behind baseball field).
