SEDGWICK – Howard A. Bamford, Jr. went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2020.
He was born July 30, 1927 in Livermore Falls, Maine to Howard A., Sr. and Lillian (Burns) Bamford. He was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School (’45), University of Maine (’51), Moody Bible Institute (’69) and was a veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 66 years Ann W. (Dibblee) Bamford (December 2016) and infant grandson Matthew.
He is survived by daughter Jo-Ann and her husband Larry Scheleen, Inverness, Scotland; sons William “Bill” and his wife Lois, Cape Elizabeth, ME and James “Jim” and his wife Jan, Sedgwick, ME; seven grandchildren: Stephen (Sandra), Sarah, Joel (Emily), Beth (Tim), Leah, Joy and Jared; seven great grandchildren; his sister Erna Breton of Falmouth; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service will be at Rural Cemetery, Sedgwick in the spring. If desired, donations may be made in his memory to Northern Light HomeCare & Hospice, 885 Union St., Suite 220, Bangor, ME 04401.
The family are very appreciative of support from the Veterans Administration, staff and caregivers from Home Instead and Northern Light Home Care, hospice workers, hospice volunteers, caregiver Katie and the Island Nursing Home.
