Ellsworth — Cindy F. Gardner of Ellsworth, ME, 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7th, 2017 after fighting a long, hard battle of Stage IV cancer at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.  Cindy was born in Providence, Rhode Island on April 2nd, 1957, the daughter of the late Clarence “Clem” Nickerson and Trudy Nickerson of Hancock, ME.

Cindy graduated Ellsworth High School, Class of 1975.  After graduation Cindy worked for the Town of East Machias, ME and later became a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).  She was a very tough and resilient person surrounded by many that loved her dearly whether family, friends, nurses, doctors, co-workers, volunteers, or otherwise.

Surviving in addition to her mother, Trudy Nickerson are her son, Sebastian Nickerson and his husband Jason, of Manchester NH; her sisters, Rhonda DeGiosafatto, Patricia Nickerson and brothers Donnie Nickerson, David Nickerson, Lloyd Nickerson and his wife Michele as well as her sister Melissa Crockett and brothers Mike Crockett, Mark Crockett, Marty Crockett III and his wife Nina along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins that cherished her.  The family would like to send our utmost gratitude to Courtland Rehabilitation Center and Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth for the loving care that Cindy received while there.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at Big Cats Catering in Trenton ME between 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, December 2nd.  This celebration will be met with togetherness, laughter, memories, giveaways, stories of yesteryear, and an all-around great time that will include dinner, drinks, dancing, maybe some karaoke, and catching up for everyone that loved her.

There are no words to express how much I miss you. You were there for me no matter what and you loved me when loving myself was difficult. I will always be your Fluff.
