Dawn Renae Conary

In the early morning hours of September 24, 2023, Dawn Renae Conary, 62, of Ellsworth, joined her beloved parents and brother, Harold, Gloria, and Harold Jr. in eternal slumber after a battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her cherished friends, Donna Pinney, Lisa Gustafson, Tim Tallman, Heather Nelson, Kevin Townsend, Lorena King, Sally Daley, Mark, and Samantha Politte.

Dawn was born in Biddeford, and the family moved when she was three. She spent the next 45 years in CT. where she earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University. She spent many years in the Automotive Industry working for several automobile dealerships where she forged strong friendships amongst her co-workers and management alike. The last 14 years of her life were spent back in Maine to be close to, and care for her parents. She worked for Stanley Subaru, where she again built lasting friendships there.

Dawn is survived by her sister-in-law, Jerrolyn Conary Wheeler, niece, Dawn Thatcher, and nephew Robert H. Conary and her two fur babies, Mystique, and Babe.

A special thank you to the compassionate, loving caregivers that made it possible for Dawn to spend her final days at home:  Kate, Jan, Amy, Sophie, Julia, Connie, Gloria, Pam, Edward, Dan, and Margarita who helped her on her journey.

At her request, there will be no funeral services. If anyone would like to make a donation in Dawn’s honor, Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County, 14 McKenzie Ave Ellsworth, ME 04605, and SPCA OF Hancock County, 141 Bar Harbor Road, Trenton, ME 04605.

I met Dawn when she contracted to build her home in Ellsworth. While I didn’t know her well, her devotion to family was touching and impressive, with the comfort of her parents first and foremost as she made important decisions.. I’m sorry to learn of her passing and extend condolences to her family and all who loved her.
