Franklin — Chase L. DeBeck, 26, died unexpectedly November 30, 2018 in his home. He was born December 15, 1991 in Ellsworth. Chase was the son of Kimberly S. DeBeck and step-son of Richard M. Taylor.
He graduated from Sumner Memorial High School, class of 2010. He had a huge love for video games, music, friends, Superman, Chinese food and Crown Royal Apple. Chase had an outgoing infectious personality that lfe a long-lasting impression. On March 31, 2017, Chase’s life changed forever. He was in a horrific accident that claimed the life of one of his best friends, Kirk Chandler. As a result, Chase spent the next 20 months of his life as a quadriplegic, proving to everyone around him the amazing strength and courage he possessed.
Chase is survived by his mother Kim; brothers, Tanner L. King and Mathew D. DeBeck of Franklin; uncles, Christopher K. DeBeck and wife Sarah of Bucksport, Donald I. DeBeck and Stephen T. DeBeck both of Eastbrook; many cousins; and his life-long best friend, Christopher H. Boucar of Franklin. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Ruth E. (Hammond) DeBeck; grandfather, Robert H. DeBeck, Sr. and uncle, Robert H. Debeck, Jr.
Chase’s family would like to extend a huge thank you to the friends that came together as a family for him and them to make sure Chase lived as happily as possible.

My dearest chase, you were like one of my own sons. You and my son Kirk and my son Kyle shared a special bond. We miss you terribly but so proud of the fierce battle you fought for the last 20 months. You and Kirk are together again. I am the Chandler boys great Aunt Georgia Chandler James and I am deeply sorry for your loss, I can’t begin to imagine the loss of a child…may you find peace given through Jesus Christ, may Holy Spirit envelop you with a peace not known to mankind.
