Carter, Clayton James, Sr.

Sorrento — Clayton James Carter, Sr. passed away August 31, 2018 at a Brewer healthcare facility. He was born in Orlando, FL., January 12, 1956, the son of Chester R. and Helen Nancy (Willey) Carter, Jr.

Clayton served in the US Army and the reserves for 17 years. He was an extremely kind man helping others. Clayton struggled over 5 years with brain cancer. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and baseball but his favorite pastime was playing with his sister’s dogs, Sky and Coco who visited with him until the end. He and his brother-in-law George were very close and liked going to yard sales and just spending time together.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Johnson of Lamoine; sons, Clayton Carter, Jr., and Jeramiah Carter; sister, Mary Wooster of Sorrento; brothers, Paul Crossman of Ellsworth and Russell W. Crossman, Sr. and wife Paula of NY., sister, Lillie J. Poors of Ellsworth; Ex wife, Debbie Carter of FL., brother-in-law, George Wooster of Sorrento; stepmother, Linda Carter of Sorrento; many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.. He was predeceased by his father, Chester Carter.

    Clayton,
    I had the pleasure of calling you my friend. I am extremely glad we met each, bowled with each other, and had many conversations over the years. I hope you are at peace my friend, and I truly wished we had more time. I ” THANK YOU ” for the memories, and you will be remembered by me my friend.
